About us
Today, you
can expect a warm ambiance at the River Moon Cafe. Mary
Barr, a very talented local artist conceived the look. Bare slate floors and
brightly colored walls give a clean uncluttered feel to the
small dining room. Shiny enlarged photographs, taken from a
moving train car in an industrial section of Rome, adorn
the walls and mirror Lawrenceville and its industrial
past. Track lights beam down on white linen tablecloths and
at dinner they are dimmed and the tables are illuminated by
candles. It is the perfect setting to share a bottle of wine with your
friends and loved ones.
Yesterday. Until
2002 that is; River Moon Cafe was old Andy's Bar. In Lawrenceville's
heyday, with the mills running three shifts a day, we've
been told that it was possible to find, on a Saturday morning,
patrons standing three deep, looking for a shot, a beer, or
31 cent fish sandwich. And we've been told that it was used
as part of the "Easy Money" movie set, which starred Rodney
Dangerfield and Joe Pesci.
The shot
and a beer days are gone. Now it's BYOB and you can get
Filet Mignon Gorgonzola, or the ever popular Zuppa di Marre.
And as opposed to yesteryear, instead of a thirty-one cent fish sandwich, you
can come and enjoy our thirty-nine fabulous
teas.
